About The Consortium for AI Innovation & Education

Background and Mission

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is set to disrupt industries across every spectrum.  However, AI talent is very scarce. Academia faces a severe shortage of professors who can teach the next generation of Artificial Intelligence. In the meantime, global AI efforts are continually spawning new branches and the algorithms are rapidly iterated. This poses a major challenge to educational institutions whose task is to keep providing talent to the global economy.

To meet this challenge, Professors from UC Berkeley and other top universities called for a resource sharing strategy for AI education, and tasked a team of professors and senior engineers in Silicon Valley to create the Consortium for AI Innovation & Education (CAIIE), aiming to bring together professionals in Artificial Intelligence to share their resources with colleges and help standardize AI programs in the colleges.

The mission of the consortium is to assist the advancement of each institution’s mission and strategic goals by offering them shared Artificial Intelligence resources in the Silicon Valley.
